Who says fire and water don’t mix? Not Urban Landscape – one of those rare companies that executes even the most difficult requests with innovation and ease in Newport Coast and throughout Southern California.

So, when Lisa and Colby Weaver asked Garett McCorkle and Urban Landscape to design an outdoor element that combined fire and water for their Newport Coast residence, they didn’t flinch. Today, the Weavers rave about their favorite outdoor features: fire bowls overflowing with water, a challenge that evolved into a landscape highlight that is nothing short of spectacular.

Many Unique Design Touches

Together, Urban Landscape and the Weavers crafted many unique landscape touches, reflecting the mood and style of the exquisite Tuscan Villa . While others in the exclusive Newport Coast neighborhood were integrating palm trees into a more formal landscape design, Lisa opted for a “raw Tuscan look – natural, weathered, rustic Italian stone. I wanted mature trees and dark plantings. This is my dream house , and I wanted it done right,” she said.

Which is exactly what they did. This being the second home McCorkle, specifically, has designed for the Weavers, they know his individual strengths and style. Lisa notes McCorkle’s hands-on approach in everything from greenery to hardscape. “When we were designing the driveway, Garett brought me no less than 30 brick samples.”

Details, details

The devil is in the details, as is innovative design and meticulous detail-orientation, according to Lisa. “Not only did Garett hand-pick every single tree, he and his team were careful to ensure that they were planted properly – an intricate process. Because of their attention to detail, we didn’t lose a single plant. Combine that with an exceptional sense of design, and everything works in unison.“

Lisa’s admiration for the finished work says it all. “The result is stunning.”
